Almost exactly four months ago, I was on a long drive across Texas, and I thought to myself: maybe I can try making a game?

For the many hours of the drive after that, the shape of something new and exciting began forming in my mind. And today I have something tangible and public to show for it.

The Bitter End is a sapphic dating sim with:

• six love interests (5 women, 1 non-binary person) ranging from 25-45 in age and each from their own world & cultural background

• light life-sim mechanics (affinity raising, daily scheduling, need management)

• a painterly, illustrative art style and a matching original soundtrack inspired by 19th-century sea ballads

• a world meant to breathe, with characters that have their own relationships beyond you

• a masked, mysterious main character whose rediscovery of self you can help shape
